Do mortgage brokers charge a fee?

Is there a catch to using a broker? I've hear sometimes they charge fees and I dont want any surprises.

That's a fair concern, but for standard home purchases and most refinances, you don't pay brokers a dime. I get paid by the lender once your deal is funded. The only time a fee might come up is with private lenders or really complex situations, and if that's the case, I will be upfront about the charge long before you commit to anything.
